MARINE INSURANCE

Harry Parathyras educated in Montreal, Canada, graduated from McGill University and thereafter commenced a career in marine insurance concentrating primarily on marine claims.

In 1987 having obtained certification as Average Adjuster founded a marine insurance brokerage and Average Adjusting company.

Apart from the insurance activities, through the 1990’s established a ship management company that purchased and operated vessels carrying both wet and dry bulk cargoes.

Since 2001 has concentrated on the management of HP International (Hellas) Corp. operating in Greece, handling and specializing in the placement of the following types of marine insurances:

1. HULL & MACHINERY
2. PROTECTION & INDEMNITY
3. WAR RISK, KIDNAP & RANSOM, ETC.
4. LOSS OF HIRE
5. BUILDERS RISK
6. MARINE LIABILITIES, CHARTERERS, MANAGERS, ETC.
7. MORTGAGEE AND INNOCENT OWNERS TYPE OF INSURANCES

AVERAGE ADJUSTING

We are competent in handling all aspects of the Hull and Machinery losses, complex General Average situations involving multiple interests, and all Protection and Indemnity matters ranging from pollution, personal injury, Cargo, along with Charterers Legal Liability and Loss of Hire claims, to name but a few.

The Average Adjusting Department at HP International (Hellas) Corp. is the discipline upon which the company was founded. Claims are serviced by individuals who are full members of the Association of Average Adjusters of United States and associate members of the British and Canadian Association of Average Adjusters.

Activities consist of:

1. Condition or pre-purchase surveys of all types of vessels.
2. Post purchase, preparation of specifications and oversight of any size of repair project.
